  • Agueris® Simulation
Generic Virtual Simulators, Nested Simulators, and Mobile Simulators...

  • To improve operator readiness, John Cockerill Defense designs, develops, integrates, deploys, and supports a comprehensive range of innovative simulation-based solutions. These solutions, marketed under the brand name Agueris®, include Generic Virtual Simulators, Nested Simulators, and Mobile Simulators (installed in trailers).

One of the main advantages of the Agueris® Generic Virtual Simulator is its multi-system capability: the same simulator can simulate different turrets, from a medium caliber turret to a large caliber turret, and switch from one to the other in a few minutes. At the other side of the spectrum, in the Nested Simulator, the crew trains in its real turret, which is plugged to the simulator. Being trained inside its real environment, with the exact odors, tightness, noises, turret motions… allows the crew members to develop operational reflexes that can be decisive in the battlefield.

The John Cockerill Defense simulators provide customized training solutions for the entire range of military requirements, ranging from basic exercises to various operational and tactical levels. Interconnected, they cover at a lower cost the full range of military training for personnel, sections, and platoons.

  • John Cockerill Defense America presents the Cockerill® 1030, our new concept of a light, powerful, and protected multi-role turret. The Cockerill® 1030 is a lightweight (<1.5t in basic configuration with ballistic protection level 2), low profile, remotely operated modular turret fitted with a 30x173mm gun currently undergoing a second round of live-fire testing in Europe. It’s vehicle interface is a 1.5m turret ring and is able to accommodate up to 200 ready-rounds.  It can be fitted with 2 digital sighting systems (commander’s panoramic and gunner’s sights), is capable of high elevation (up to 70°) and able to integrate a wide variety of add-ons (ATGM, rockets, APS, 360° close observation,…) which make it ideal for most vehicles and missions (APC, IFV, Counter-UAS, amphibious,…) which require mobility, lethality, performance and increased situational awareness.

The modularity of the Cockerill® 1030 allows it to be multi-mission with a fully configurable turret according to the customer’s needs. We can offer several different configurations, from a full option turret with level 4 ballistic protection, to an ultra-light unmanned turret without ballistic protection, to a lower cost version for a single operator.

This turret is based on the vast experience acquired from all Cockerill® products, with more than 600 units fitted with Mk44S gun delivered. The state-of-the-art electronic architecture is also common to the John Cockerill Defense CPWS Gen. 2, offering digital technology and open architecture which allows integration of multiple sights, ATGMs, and smoke grenade launchers – all while being component and vehicle manufacturer agnostic.

  • Cockerill™ 3000 Series
The first multi-cannon turret system in its class with a core platform that can be adapted to a range of weapons from 30mm to 105mm caliber in manned and remotely operated versions....

  • With the Cockerill™ 3000 Series, John Cockerill Defense has introduced the first multi-cannon turret system in its class. Retaining all the capabilities of the Cockerill™ single-caliber products, the Cockerill™ 3000 Series employs a core platform that can be adapted to a range of weapons from 30mm to 105mm caliber in manned and remotely operated versions. The Cockerill™ 3000 series can be mounted on a wheeled or tracked chassis. John Cockerill Defense is currently in production of several hundred Cockerill™ 3000 series turrets in 30mm and 105mm configuration.

Providing such caliber interchangeability and both manned/unmanned configurations, the Cockerill™ 3000 Series represents a unique answer to the customers’ present and future requirements. Its modularity leads to a high commonality in terms of training, maintenance, and spare parts; significantly enhancing manpower and system readiness. These advantages also allow for standardization of maintenance tasks, therefore reducing the number of tools and spare parts held in inventory and optimizing total cost of ownership.

  • The Cockerill™ 3030 weapon system is designed to become the Next Generation Medium Caliber Armament System for the US Army. The baseline model is TRL 9 and is currently in production for an international customer.

The Cockerill™ 3030 mounts a 30mm XM813 Medium Caliber electrically powered chain gun, and with minor engineering design changes can successfully integrate the XM-913 50mm cannon. The weapons system includes two state of the art sighting systems enabling hunter/killer capabilities as well as facilitating vehicle commander situational awareness. The Cockerill™ 3030 system has been tested with multiple sighting systems, allowing for a wide range of sighting options including the US Army 2nd Gen FLIR as well as off the shelf systems from US and foreign suppliers. In addition, the Cockerill™ 3030 has an under armor 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and the proven capability to fire all 30mm X 173mm ammunition in the US inventory including the MK310 Programmable Air Burst munition.

As an optionally manned capable turret weapon system, the Cockerill™ 3030 maintains the capability to support two- or three-Soldier crew configuration and provides turret roof hatches for crew situational awareness and to allow for ease of egress and performance of maintenance tasks. This turret can be rapidly fielded to meet near term requirements and has embedded modular growth capabilities inherent to its design to enable future technology and lethality improvements.

In 2015, US Army Development Command Armaments Center (DEVCOM-AC) selected John Cockerill Defense America (at that time CMI Defence America) to partner in the Medium Caliber Armament System Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (MCAS CRADA). John Cockerill Defense America provided a variant of the Cockerill 3030 turret, armed with the XM813 30mm cannon, and integrated subsystems to enable the DEVCOM-AC designed situational based fire control system testing in the fall of 2017. The MCAS CRADA turret performed flawlessly, providing DEVCOM-AC test data for over 5000 rounds of 30mm ammunition, including MK310 Programmable Air Burst Munition. The MCAS CRADA turret allowed John Cockerill Defense to be first to understand and integrate the Army’s MCAS fire control system into an effective 30mm lethality system. The MCAS CRADA turret continues to provide an innovation testbed with the John Cockerill Defense team working with DEVCOM-AC to develop CAD files for an initial integration of the XM-913 50mm cannon.

  • The Cockerill™ 3105 lethality solution offers a mature and qualified solution for wheeled and tracked platforms.

At least one hundred Cockerill™ 3105 turrets with Cockerill™ 105mm High Pressure (HP) cannons are currently in production for a Middle Eastern ally. These turrets are integrated onto wheeled vehicles very similar to U.S. Strykers. Having a “HOT” production line allows John Cockerill Defense America to rapidly respond to non-developmental aspects of US combat vehicle programs.

The Cockerill™ 3105 consists of proven, mature, and in-production components that minimize risk and shorten fielding timelines. Our target acquisition sights identify threats while our proprietary fire control allows engagement at maximum effective range of our armament suite. Our highly reliable autoloader and main gun ready round capacity reduces resupply activities and allows combatants to stay in the fight longer. Main gun elevation capability of +42 degrees provides a greater field of fire in urban environments against dismounted threats engaging from upper building floors.

This modern designed turret offers many advantages to empower the American warfighter of today, with protection, precision, and firepower necessary to fulfil the mission.
