National Industries for the Blind's (NIB)  mission is to enhance the opportunities for economic and personal independence of persons who are blind, primarily through creating, sustaining and improving employment. NIB, a 501(c)(3) Central Non-profit Agency, was founded in 1938 and is headquartered in Alexandria, VA. NIB operates under the Javits-Wagner-O’Day (JWOD) Act and executes the AbilityOne® Program, a federal program that enables people who are blind to work while providing products and services to federal customers. With more than 80 years of experience, NIB has a network of 152 associated non-profit agencies in 250 locations across 39 states that provide products and services in support of the AbilityOne® Program. We employ nearly 6,000 people who are blind and produce more than 7,000 products.
